Nothing to build per button

A tap opens WhatsApp, and the chat does not say which ad sent the visitor.

  • On a site without a shop, a tap on your WhatsApp button counts as a lead.
  • The scan finds your WhatsApp buttons by itself.
  • Installing is one line in your site's head.

Embedded bookings count too

  • A booking in an embedded Calendly, Cal.com, HubSpot or SavvyCal calendar counts by itself.
  • The calendar has to sit on your own site, where the scan finds it.

Ad click and campaign, with consent

When the visitor said yes to marketing and analytics cookies:

  • Each lead is a row on your Leads screen.
  • Next to it: the ad click behind it, such as Meta or Google Ads.
  • Add utm_campaign to your ad links, and you see the campaign too.

If the visitor declined, the tap still counts in your dashboard, without an ad. It goes to no ad platform.

What your ad platforms get

  • By default, one conversion per visit goes out. Tap and book in one visit, and only one of the two goes.
  • Connect Google Ads after the scan. Taps and bookings each get their own conversion action. Until Google completes its review of our app, you will see an "unverified app" warning.
  • New actions can start secondary. Google bids on those only once you make them primary or add them to a custom goal.
  • If the scan finds your own Meta pixel, sending to Meta stays off, because with both, Meta can count a lead twice. Ask us to change that. Leads still shows the Meta click, when the visitor said yes.
  • For now, Meta goes through a call. Book one to check yours.

What Sightwick can't do

  • A tap is a click, not a message sent. Sightwick does not read your chats.
  • Ads that open WhatsApp directly skip your site, so there is no tap to count.
  • A booking page outside your site, such as one on calendly.com, is not counted.
  • Credit stays within one browser. An ad click in Instagram's browser and a later tap in Safari are not linked.
  • If Sightwick restarts for an update or after a crash, a second conversion from the same visit can still go out.
  • On a web shop, taps and bookings stay out of your ads by default. They still show on Leads, when the visitor said yes.

Check this before you spend

  1. Link your WhatsApp button straight to wa.me or api.whatsapp.com, not to a page in between.
  2. Embed your calendar on your own site before the scan runs.
  3. Use a banner Sightwick reads: Cookiebot, Complianz, OneTrust, Usercentrics or Google Consent Mode. Another banner needs one line from your developer.
  4. On a site without a shop, the WhatsApp reference code is on by default: name it in your privacy policy, or turn it off under Advanced on Leads.
  5. Add utm_campaign to every ad link.
